I absolutely love thunder & lightning. The sheer power of it always makes me think about nature & how when she wants to, can really kick our collective arses!
I’m writing a post, not this one, well yes obviously this one, but only because it’s thundering lightning while I was writing the other one. So I guess the current storm is taking away the heatwave we’ve had for the last 3-4 weeks. Can’t say I’ll miss it, it’s just well…so un-British 🙂
I do like the feeling of typing away to thunder & lightning, drinking a glass of Shiraz. Mmmmmm I could get use to this….
Right back to the other post!
I love thunder and lightening too! It is the one aspect of summer I miss since coming to California.
Where were you before California?
Wisconsin (Midwestern state of the US)
Aaahh home of ‘That 70’s Show’ 🙂
I know a couple of bloggers from Wisconsin. Three now!
I adore thunder and lightning! It scares everyone else in the house but I sit and wait in anticipation when a storm is forecast. I’m partially tempted to invest in some weather monitoring equipment but I appreciate that’s probably due to a touch of hypomania.
Yeah, my wife is a little scared of thunder. Though she’s not as bad as she used to be.
If you do invest, you may go on to be one of those storm chasers you see on TV 🙂
I’ve just gone off storms slightly – I just got caught walking the dog. At least it saves me having a shower! 😉
Haha
Hawkruh practically took the words out of my mouth. I use to love major thunderstorms when I lived on the East coast and Midwest. Since I moved to the US Southwest I miss them. I’ve lived in Arizona, Nevada and now California and we get torrential rains but none of that good ol’ scary thunder and lightening.
You can’t beat a good o’l thunder storm 😀
Haha!
I also love it when the skies open up and produce amazing bolts of lightning for us to watch. 🙂
But…I hate driving in it! Sitting down writing a post and drinking? My type of night! Lol
Hugs for a great week. Paula xxx
Oh I like to drive it in it too. It’s the challenge of trying to see through the rain on the windshield. The force is strong with me, so it’s all good 😉
Hahaha! X
The thunderstorm couldn’t really exist without the heatwave, so I’m grateful for it for that reason alone. Thunderstorms are a regular feature of Texas summer, so it’s occasionally nice to get that taste of ‘back home’. 🙂
Glad you got that Texas blast of heat and thunder in that case 🙂
And we even are amongst that 4% with an air conditioning unit, so that helped with the inrush of humidity afterwards. xD
We made do with a fan, moving the hot air around 😦
My husband was resistant, but once we had the kiddo, he ended up agreeing. It regularly gets up to 30C in our home in the summer due to getting sunlight 100% of the day in our lounge, so even with blackout curtains and the shop downstairs having closed up…
