I was doing my postie round this morning &, whilst listening to the radio, the topic of Captain Pugwash came on. The presenters were talking about the innuendo that can be seen in kids TV cartoons & yep, Captain Pugwash came up!

I don’t think the escapades of Captain Pugwash made it out of the UK, & if I’m honest, I’m not even sure it was made here to begin with. But the cast of certain character names was hilarious…The three that stand out are…Sea-man Stains, Master-Bates & of course Roger the Cabin Boy! I mean come on, how did those names get past the censor commission. Bloody glad they did though as that is classic innuendo right there :)

The thing that had me smiling & laughing most this morning, was that one of the presenters didn’t get the innuendo in Roger The Cabin Boy. Specifically & I quote “Really? I didn’t know roger meant that!”. While all the other presenters were laughing at this in the background, one of his female colleagues had to write it down on a piece of paper for him.

The cutest thing is, the innuendo would go right over the heads of kids & is just fun for ‘adults’.

Anyway, I thought I had to share it. Let me know of innuendo laden kids programmes where you’re from.

I only realised later on that I may have scared some people on my round…cut to me with a demonic gurning like grin on my face, asking a customer to sign a package I had for them ;)

I was looking at another blog & appear to have been cajoled into taking part in a challenge of sorts.

Have a look at the details here. The idea comes from Lex at Thee Truth Is & I think it’ll be fun to do if not a complete waste of time :D

Let me know what you think…??

When I was diagnosed with bipolar my doctor advised I should cut back on my drinking. I wouldn’t say I drank excessively, but they advised alcohol is a natural depressant & as my bipolar tends to lean more to that side of the spectrum I took the advice. Usually I don’t miss drinking, although many of my memories & good times do come on the back of drinking with friends & family. Maybe that’s the British drink culture shining through there :) The times I do miss drinking are when I go to social events, where most other people are slurping the tasty stuff.

Last night I went to a wedding reception with my wife & we only knew a few people there & they were Laura’s  work colleagues. I get on fine with them, but as the night wore on, it just reminded me of the reason I don’t drink much. Yes its through choice, but if I didn’t have bipolar, I would be sipping my favourite beverage (Red Wine mmmm…) & relaxing a little more than I was. I did have a couple of shandy’s (half lager, half lemonade), but after two I was on the hardcore stuff, H2O & coke chasers!!

Four years ago I would have had more to drink & I would have got up to have a dance, as there were some quality tunes played from the 90′s. However, last night I just had the one dance to a slow number with Laura. It was nice & my dad dancing did hit new heights (yes even in a slow dance it shows), but I was aware I was on the dance floor without the warm fuzzy feeling of slight inebriation & who cares attitude.

I’m still on the road to recovery from my recent ass wupping of depression. A can of said Wupp Ass was opened & depression is currently skulking around out of sight! I know in a few months time if I go to another such party, I’ll be feeling even better & will be up on the dance busting moves & potentially other peoples bones if I don’t reign in my uncoordinated  limbs. This will be done without the aid of warm & fuzzy, but its just a shame that I sometimes feel self conscious as I did last night.

I woke up this morning to two particularly cheeky nephews launching themselves on me in a Piley On fashion. After shitting myself I managed to wrestle free & get to my cup of coffee.

They were both very cute when we took them to an animal shelter for cats. The cats had a mixture of bemusement, fear & please take me home looks on their faces, as they watched two bundles of energy zipping across from window to window. Whispering to each other, so as not to scare the cats, & trying to decide which was their favourite. I wish I’d recorded it.
