I was doing my postie round this morning &, whilst listening to the radio, the topic of Captain Pugwash came on. The presenters were talking about the innuendo that can be seen in kids TV cartoons & yep, Captain Pugwash came up!

I don’t think the escapades of Captain Pugwash made it out of the UK, & if I’m honest, I’m not even sure it was made here to begin with. But the cast of certain character names was hilarious…The three that stand out are…Sea-man Stains, Master-Bates & of course Roger the Cabin Boy! I mean come on, how did those names get past the censor commission. Bloody glad they did though as that is classic innuendo right there :)

The thing that had me smiling & laughing most this morning, was that one of the presenters didn’t get the innuendo in Roger The Cabin Boy. Specifically & I quote “Really? I didn’t know roger meant that!”. While all the other presenters were laughing at this in the background, one of his female colleagues had to write it down on a piece of paper for him.

The cutest thing is, the innuendo would go right over the heads of kids & is just fun for ‘adults’.

Anyway, I thought I had to share it. Let me know of innuendo laden kids programmes where you’re from.

I only realised later on that I may have scared some people on my round…cut to me with a demonic gurning like grin on my face, asking a customer to sign a package I had for them ;)

This is probably my favourite Radiohead song.

I love the guitar in this one & how it blends in with the drums at 2:04

One of my favourite tunes from that decade!

Before the lead singer from Garbage went on to star as a terminator in “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles” she was a successful musician here in Britain. Unfortunately her acting is garbage. Pun intended…see what I did there!

OK so I have a new guilty pleasure. It’s the song at the bottom of this post. It just makes me laugh. Oh the cheese & overflowing teen angst!

It reminds of programmes like Dawson’s Creek where the kids talk like they have the wisdom of a 70 year old with massive amounts of life experience. If you never got to view this series here is a clip of the ‘tense’ drama.

Now if we’re talking about a good teen series check out My So Called Life. It was cancelled after the first series as it was too realistic. Seriously!

How young does Claire Danes Look?!?!

Now for the guilty pleasure. My favourite lines are when she says dramatically ‘Like Everrrrr!!!’ This song reminds me of two fellow bloggers who shall remain nameless *Coughs* Lexi…*Coughs* Telea. Sorry ladies its the teen angst thing ;)

I hear one hit wonders all the time on the radion. Those bands that burst onto the scene with a great record & then disappeared into the ether.

Here is my favourite one hit wonder song. Very upbeat & kind of sums my mood at the moment.

What is your best one hit piece of magic?

Here in the UK over the last couple of years the month of November has been christened by many as Movember. People randomly grow moustaches for the month to raise money for charity etc… So I thought this year I’d partake. My wife isn’t happy, but hey she’s a woman so no change there ;)

So here is my first shot of said tash. Although I’m actually going to go for a more full beard look early on. Afterwards I may go for the goatee & then maybe the porn tash.

OK so this is roughly five days growth & I’m guessing I may not be able to manage a full blown beard, but a goatee should be achievable.

Writing about this growth has reminded me of my willow tree at the back of our flat. It is still fighting back from the brink & below is a new shot of it’s plumage. I doubt it will get any bigger until next spring as autumn/winter is well under way.

You might think it’s not that impressive, but when you consider it looked like this at the end of June, it’s come back well in only four months

There are two things in a song that I always seem to make the song more powerful to me. The first is piano music. I really want to learn how to play too. The second is violin music. Whenever each of these instruments features heavily in a song I nearly always enjoy it.

Below is an example of the piano kind from the Cinematic Orchestra.

Hope you like it.

I fear this will not be a much read, liked or commented post as it’s to do with football & as most of the bloggers I know are women well that pretty much is all I have to say. What do you think I’m getting at with that comment, discuss?

My football team Everton FC usually start their season very slowly & only get going by Christmas time. Form alone in the second part of the season in the last three years have had us finishing in the top 4 of the Premier League each time. This year however we have got out of the gates as well as I can remember. We’re currently sitting 4th in league & playing really good football.

So yes Everton FC is what I’m excited for.

By the way “NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM” (Club motto) translates to “NOTHING BUT THE BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH”
