When I first heard this song I didn’t even relate it to religion. I just thought of it as losing something / anything you care deeply about.

I love this song. It has a special place in my heard since I struggled with my mixed religious upbringing up until my late teens. Funny because I’ve never seen this as a religious song, rather of someone, who, well, I won’t state the obvious.
This song has made me cry countless times.
